Comments:

I walked in to the [...] and ended up getting the DB Insight as a first bike on impulse, drawn to it because of its looks primarily. Great bike for the price, but immediately upgraded the pedals, brakes, 700x28 tires, and added some accessories. Bike is used for muscle tone and health, riding an average of 10-20 miles each day everyday. After about a month, I am wanting to upgrade to a lighter carbon road bike as the DB Insight is not really well suited for the distance rides that I now prefer. [...] my final purchase ended up with Trek where I bought a 2011 Trek MT220 ([$]) for my daughter, and impulsively bought a 2011 Trek Madone 4.7 ([$]) for myself. [...]

Comments:

I have not used this bike much yet, but I spent a lot of time researching performance hybrids in this price range. This bike seems to be by far the best value. The frame is WAY lighter than similar priced products and it is much more attractive as well. The components are not the best, but those are always upgradable down the road. Botom line, the frame makes this bike a great value!

    Comments:

The component setup is a little weak. The drivetrain has consitently needed adjustment and when the chain decides to de-rail, it bends enough that I have to take a set of pliers to get the chain straight again. I am commuting on the bike fairly hard, but I'd expect more.

    Comments:

After researching a few of the more expensive models (Trek Sport Urban 1.0, Specialized Sirrus) I decided on the Diamondback Insight 1 as my first hybrid bike. At [$], It seemed to be a pretty good deal (especially since the TREK SU 1.0 has a very similar setup, and is [$] more). After owning it for a month and putting quite a few miles on it already, I can say that I am pleased with the bike. It does come with a pretty firm seat, so I replaced it with an aftermarket gel padded model from [...] for around [$]. It's easy to ride and easy on the rider.
