Saris Freedom 2-Bike

Transport all types of bikes with Saris’ Freedom 2-Bike hitch rack. Its innovative design adjusts to fit most bikes and sizes, including kids’ and even some recumbents, thanks to the adjustability of its center upright support. It uses quick-adjust trays and ratcheting straps to secure two bikes of up to 35 pounds each, and loading is made easy by the low tray height. The center upright support even tilts down to allow trunk access. Plus, the rack itself only weighs 21 pounds, making it easy to take on and off.

I wanted a lightweight strong bike rack for occasional transportation of my bike. The rack is easy to install and dismount. Saris was very helpful in finding the best way to mount my bike on the rack. The Saris Freedom 2 fits my needs perfectly.

The poorly designed hitch tite used inside the rack breaks too easily and the official answer to fixing it is to cut my hitch.

Really nice bicycle rack. Bought this & installed it on a Ford Transit Connect. Holds two bikes nicely, will be using this a lot. Thanks again to Emery's, great recommendation!

Hitch bolt strips out threads of the hollow tube very easily. the walls of the tubing are too soft to hold up to rough roads and installing and uninstalling the rack

            Comments:

I had mistakenly purchased a Transit hitch bike rack first. It was overweight, and very unstable, meaning it and the bikes bounced a great deal while driving the car. Returned the Transit when it's hitch bolt started stripping. This Saris Freedom rack is so very much easier to bolt onto the hitch receiver. It's much more sturdy yet lighter than the inexpensive hitch racks out there. It's not overpriced and it really works well on my 2015 Chrysler 200 with he Chrysler bike receiver. Thank you Saris for making a quality product and backing it up with a great warranty.

                Comments:

This rack is for our Mazda CX-5 and it's a great fit. There are a total of 4 bikes that will be transported, either a road and commuter or two beach cruisers and it fits both well. The cruisers are definitely a little more difficult to put on but they do weigh about 10-15 pounds more than the other bikes. They were all stable on the rack, we even took it onto the freeway and they sat nice and stable. The size is perfect, I can pull it off of the car and put it in the back if I need to. It's also pretty easy to carry around when mounting and storing. It's a first for me and I'm pretty happy with my decision. This rack is perfect and I am confident it's going to get a lot of use from me and my husband.

Really like the rack, but the twist screws leave you guessing if it is tight enough. A quick release clamp like on my front bike wheel would be a great upgrade.
